Rock the Vote and the City Of Milwaukee team up to celebrate early in-person voting with a free concert and community block party
The Bucks season isn’t the only thing tipping off this week. So does in-person early voting. To celebrate, Rock the Vote has teamed up with the City of Milwaukee to host Milwaukeeland, a free concert and block party featuring Lil Uzi Vert on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Early Vote site. The event will be held from 10am to 3pm.
In addition to Lil Uzi Vert’s performance, attendees will be able to enjoy carnival games, hip-hop roller rinks, minigolf, a half-pipe competition, the best of Milwaukee’s food truck scene and vote early. The early vote site at Milwaukee Area Technical College will be open until 2pm.
“As early voting kicks off in Wisconsin, Milwaukeeland will serve as an avenue for young Milwaukeeans to come together in community to express their voices and cast their votes,” said Carolyn DeWitt, the President and Executive Director of Rock the Vote.
Wisconsin has already seen enthusiastic crowds at early vote sites this week. “Especially in Milwaukee,” said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, “young people will help decide who leads this country, and their votes matter.”
Johnson added, “This is a great time to celebrate with music in a way that reinforces the importance of civic engagement.”
Lil Uzi Vert is expected to perform at 1pm. The public should arrive by 10am on Saturday for a chance to secure VIP tickets or by 12pm to guarantee general admission tickets.
Tickets to the block party and concert are free and can be obtained at www.Milwaukeeland.com.
