“No blank check for Big Tech” was the message at a rally in River Falls sponsored by GROWW (Grass Roots Organizing-Western Wisconsin) that demanded an end to the sales tax exemption for items related to the construction and operation of hyperscale data centers — a break that could have a $2 billion price tag. It was supported by Rep. Clint Moses (R-Menomonie) whose Dunn County district has been a center of attention for community discontent about secret negotiations and unknown impacts of a proposed $1.6 billion data center.
