Wisconsin has been ranked the fourth-best state to raise a family in 2026, according to a new report from WalletHub.
The rankings were based on factors such as median family income, housing affordability, crime rates, school performance and health care quality. WalletHub evaluated states across five key dimensions using a 100-point scale: Family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability, and socio-economics.
Wisconsin performed strongest in socio-economics, ranking seventh, while its lowest placement came in family fun at 20th.

Kristin Hansen told UpNorthNews she started Blue Sky Waukesha County after years of frustration over not knowing much about the candidates for school boards, county boards, and municipal governments like city councils, village boards, and town boards.
