Ellie here. We’re almost to the weekend! Do you have any fun plans?
On Saturday, I’m headed to the Brewer game for my good friend’s birthday. While I’m excited to watch the Brew Crew play, I’m mostly looking forward to tailgating with some beers and snacks in the parking lot. It’s one of the best parts!
Have you made it out to a Brewer Game yet this season? And do you have any tailgating traditions I should try? Let me know.
Switching gears, today, we’re taking a closer look at Wisconsin’s 2026 Spring Election results, including school district referendums, State Supreme court spots, and more.
And don’t forget! For tomorrow’s Locals Love, I want to hear all about your favorite concert venues around our state. Send in your favorites, and tell me why they should be featured!

Marilyn L. from Oneida County sent in this beautiful view. It wouldn’t be Wisconsin if we didn’t still have snow on the ground in April. Thanks for sharing!

Is there still snow on the ground by you? When the snow clears, be sure to take advantage of Wisconsin wildflower season: What to know & where to go.

Milwaukee sure loves brunch. A leisurely morning spent over indulgent dishes and a perfectly acceptable breakfast cocktail – what’s not to love? But the most popular places – you know, the same five or six brunch spots that top every best-of list — can come with one major downside: a long wait.
Those spots have deservedly earned their flowers, but they’re not the only brunch restaurants in town. If you’re tired of standing in line for a table or just want to skip the weekend rush, you may want to explore the city’s underrated brunch gems.

Across Wisconsin, numerous school districts had referendums on the ballot in the April 7 election. Out of 75 total referendums, 46 passed for a success rate of 61%.
According to a report by Civic Media, of the referendums that passed, 11 were decided by 83 or less votes—in particular, Shell Lake and Butternut school districts were approved by two votes and one, respectively. On the other hand, four of the 29 failed referendums lost by less than 24 votes..

One year ago, the dust had barely settled on Justice Susan Crawford’s Wisconsin Supreme Court victory when political observers had already begun anticipating the next big matchup: if Appeals Court Judge Chris Taylor would choose to challenge the court’s conservative firebrand, Justice Rebecca Bradley. Taylor did get in, but Bradley blinked and bailed on seeking another 10-year term, denying voters a guaranteed volley of political fireworks.
What they got instead was a political earthquake from a different Wisconsin race on Tuesday.
