Wisconsin pharmacist says Trump’s tariffs could end rural independent pharmacies

“Tom Tiffany has been no friend to pharmacy or to healthcare in the state of Wisconsin.” 💊 Pharmacist Thad Schumacher—who owns Fitchburg Family Pharmacy in Dane County—has sharply criticized Republican gubernatorial nominee Rep. Tom Tiffany for sponsoring his own drug import tax legislation and supporting President Trump’s policies and tariffs, which Schumacher said will drive up the cost of medications. Schumacher said rising wholesale and import costs get passed down to local pharmacies and patients who are already struggling to afford essential prescriptions. He’s worried that rural Wisconsinites won’t have a local pharmacy to go to anymore. ✏️: Salina Heller
