Joel Brennan: As governor, I’ll stop pitting property taxpayers against our children’s education

All of Wisconsin’s Democratic candidates for governor talk up their support for public education, but there are differences when it comes to taxpayer-funded vouchers for parents to send their kids to private, usually religious, schools. Some want to end the program immediately, others take a more incremental approach to limiting taxpayer exposure. Joel Brennan has said he wants to tighten the limit on the number of state-funded vouchers — and at a recent candidate forum in Lake Tomahawk co-sponsored by UpNorthNews, he also called for an overhaul of the current school funding formula.
