Ellie here. The warm weather is back, and hopefully here to stay!
I’ve been taking advantage of the nice temps by getting back outside and running! Here’s a view of the Menomonee River from my run the other day:

Two best friends and Green Bay natives joked in middle school about owning their own business. That’s since become their reality.
Sydney Vassal, 33, and Erin Sherwood, 32, have transformed a bus into a bookmobile called Loom & Lore, where they packed it full of nearly 1,000 books, specializing primarily in romance titles while offering a variety of other genres for community members to purchase.
“We really just wanted to create a space where readers, makers, and people interested in building community could come together,” Vassal said.

Wisconsin is a big sporting state—from cheering on the Packers, Bucks, and Brewers, to being devoted to the Badgers and spending time in some of the state’s many sports bars. Because Wisconsin is such a sport-loving state, it makes it easy to support women’s sports throughout the state.
Despite the wins and excitement that can be found in women’s sports, they consistently receive less media coverage and engagement than men’s sports. But the tide seems to be changing—from exciting new players creating fandoms to novel opportunities for women to get involved in sports, women’s sports are picking up support throughout the country, including right here in Wisconsin. Women’s sports, which were once a niche market, are now a booming industry, with 46 billion minutes of women’s sports viewed in 2025.

Wisconsin saw more severe thunderstorm, tornado and flash flood warnings in the first three weeks of April than in any other month in the last four decades of available data, more than a month before the usual peak of the severe weather season.
Wisconsin had 289 warnings as of the morning of April 22, according to National Weather Service data shared by the Wisconsin State Climatology Office. That compares to 264 in June 2005, 262 in July 2006, 258 in June 1998 and 253 in June 2008. June and July usually have the most severe weather each year, said Amanda Latham, climate outreach specialist with the climatology office.
