This week, I asked for your favorite area gift/craft shops. Here’s what you had to say:
📍The Red Bicycle, Ashland
“This shop has multiple local vendors on display and for sale. Every type of art form you can imagine is contained in the little downtown store; paintings, metallurgy art, framed photographs, knit/crocheted/embroidered pieces, pottery, jewelry – the list goes on and on!!” — RC H.
📍Something Fine, East Troy
“There is a couple that make wooden barn quilts! They are sold in art stores near East Troy… @somethingfine.mary….. they are on both Instagram and Facebook… check them out! Those little stores have such hidden gems!” — Margaret B.
📍Hawkeye Dairy Story, Abbotsford
“It’s been a family tradition for generations just off highway 29 on Highway 13 in Abbotsford, WI. Local products, great WI themed gifts, and engagingly fun staff. This giant photo opp is raved about almost as much as the amazing ice cream itself.” — Pam S.
📍Frankie’s Thiensville, Thiensville
“Frankie’s Gift Shop in Thiensville is a gem. It’s a showcase of dozens of Wisconsin artists and crafters, as well as a micro bookshop of Wisconsin authors! The owner is welcoming and it’s a safe space for all.” — Kristin D.
📍 La Belle FDL, Fond du Lac
“I live in Fond du Lac, and one of my favorite gift shops is a fabulous place called La Belle FDL! The owner, Claudia Hawkins-Moïse, is the perfect person to run this shop, which contains many Wisconsin-based products and many Fond du Lac souvenirs! The shop is located within our beautiful Retlaw Hotel, which is the perfect location.” — Mel K.
📍The Local Store, Eau Claire
“Downtown Eau Claire has a fantastic gift shop, The Local Store! Inside, there is something for everyone! Items range from local cheese and beer, honey, coffee, and delicious lavender infused baking mixes. There is a great selection of WI and EC apparel, hats, socks, and jewelry.” — Kris S.
