If you’re looking for a relaxing (and delicious) Wisconsin summer excursion, consider taking a weekend bike ride or drive along the Driftless Area Wine and Cheese Trail. This path winds through the scenic rolling hills and hidden valleys of southwestern Wisconsin, where you’ll find vineyards, small-batch creameries, and charming countryside views around every bend.
At each stop, you can sample local wines that range from crisp whites to bold reds, often paired with artisan cheeses made just a few miles away. Some vineyards have cozy patios, while others offer beautiful picnic spots overlooking the region. The creameries feature shops stocked with everything Wisconsin—from cheese curds to aged cheddar!
The trail is self-guided so you can explore at your own pace, whether that’s a relaxing day trip or a full weekend outing. If you’re a foodie, sommelier, or someone in search of great food, drinks, and a beautiful drive, consider checking out the Driftless Area Wine and Cheese Trail this weekend!

Choosing where you want to spend your life is an important decision that everyone has to make at some point. So is choosing where you’ll spend your afterlife. Many of Wisconsin’s famous residents have chosen to be buried throughout the state, in everything from large, historic graveyards to smaller, family burial plots.
Many of these burial sites serve as places for family, friends, and fans alike to pay their respects to the famous people buried here, while others are more hidden away and inaccessible to the public.
From Broadway stars and TV icons to well-known politicians (and their kids) and musicians, there are plenty of famous people who have made their eternal home in Wisconsin.
1. Frank Lloyd Wright (Died: April 9, 1959) Buried: Unity Chapel Cemetery, 6596 County Highway TZ, Spring Green
2. Nicholas Ray (Died: June 16, 1979) Buried: Oak Grove Cemetery, 1407 La Crosse St., La Crosse

The Wisconsin DMV is warning residents about a new wave of scam texts and emails—many claiming to be from WisDOT or the DMV and demanding payment for “unpaid tickets” or “tolls.”
These messages are NOT real. The DMV will never text you asking for money or personal information.
To help protect consumers, the agency has launched a new resource at wisconsindmv.gov/scams with examples of recent phishing attempts, tips to spot red flags, and advice on what to do if you’ve been targeted.
Red flags include:
🚫 Demands for money 🚫 “Urgent” action required 🚫 Suspicious links 🚫 Requests for personal information 🚫 Posing as “Department of Motor Vehicles” instead of the official Wisconsin DMV
