Wisconsin leaders are trying to bridge gaps in order to create a new generation of clean energy jobs.
Speaking at a recent UpNorthNews event, state Rep. Supreme Moore Omokunde (D-Milwaukee) noted that progressives are sometimes divided on climate matters, with labor unions and environmentalists occasionally butting heads. Then there are times when Republicans and some climate activists are united in things, like viewing nuclear energy as a zero-carbon source.
Omokunde said the climate needs action now—and this is also the right time to turn the temperature down on the political climate and find common ground to reduce emissions while creating good middle class jobs.
