Support Wisconsin sports by becoming a fan of these seven teams, from soccer and volleyball to ultimate frisbee (and, of course, the Packers).
Calling all Wisconsin sports fans! This year, there are many great opportunities to support your favorite local sports teams and maybe even add a few more to your roster. Of course, there’s nothing more Wisconsin than the Packers (we’ve all seen fans rocking yellow cheeseheads to support the green and gold).
Did you know Madison is expected to be home to Wisconsin’s first professional women’s soccer team sometime in 2025? While the details aren’t quite out yet, we’re excited to support them and many other teams in 2025.
From soccer to volleyball and even an ultimate frisbee league, there’s a team for everyone to cheer on. Many of these teams are based out of Milwaukee or Madison, so no matter where you are in the state, there’s a Wisconsin sports team you can support nearby. Read on to learn more about these seven sports teams that call Wisconsin home.
1. Milwaukee Wave
Sport: Professional indoor men’s soccer
Season: Dec. 7 through March 30
Tickets: Available here–$20 to $59
For the last four decades, the Milwaukee Wave has been Wisconsin’s professional indoor soccer team. Every game, they partner with ROC (Return on Community) and local non-profits in Southeastern Wisconsin to raise awareness and funds. You can stop by home games at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, with tickets starting at just $20.

2. LOVB – Madison
Sport: Professional women’s volleyball
Season: Jan. 10 through April 5 (with potential for more games in the finals)
Tickets: Available here–$25 to $93
In their debut season, LOVB (League One Volleyball) – Madison will join five other professional women’s volleyball teams. It’s described as a first-of-its-kind volleyball community that supports its athletes’ journeys from the beginning through wherever their journey grows. There are currently five clubs associated with the LOVB mission in Wisconsin: FC Elite, Most Volleyball, Inferno, One Wisconsin, and MadTown Juniors.
3. Green Bay Packers
Sport: Professional men’s football (NFL)
Season: Regular season Sept. to Dec.—exact dates TBD
Tickets: Find ticket information by phone, email, or online
For the past century (as of October 1921), the Green Bay Packers have represented Wisconsin in the NFL. Although they are out of the playoffs in 2025, when the regular season starts again, they will have eight home games and nine away. Do you know that true Packers fans also have the chance to see their team play on an international stage? In 2024, the Packers faced off against the Eagles in Brazil.
4. Madison Radicals
Sport: Ultimate Frisbee league
Season: TBD, Regular season is six games long—tryouts on Jan. 18
Tickets: Available here–$55 to $500 (for season packages)
Move over traditional Wisconsin sports teams; this ultimate frisbee league is taking time to shine. The Madison Radicals haven’t been around long (founded in 2013), but they’ve had several successful seasons! They compete in the Central Division against Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh and even won the championship in 2018. In addition to the regular season, they host several youth camps (elementary through high school) in June and July.
5. Milwaukee Bucks
Sport: Professional men’s basketball (NBA)
Season: Oct. 23 through April 13
Tickets: Available here–$10 to $1,700
The Milwaukee Bucks joined the NBA in 1968. Currently, you can catch a game at Fiserv Forum. Before going in, take a look around the Deer District, which is home to great eats and sports bars. While the Bucks definitely know their basketball, they also know the importance of giving back to the community. They focus on health and wellness, education, and overall community betterment in underserved communities.
6. Milwaukee Admirals
Sport: Professional men’s ice hockey (AHL)
Season: Oct. 11 through April 18
Tickets: Available here–$28 to $62
Did you know that before they were the Admirals, they spent one season as the Milwaukee Wings? They had an incredibly successful 2023-2024 season, with a franchise-record 19-game winning streak, but that’s not the only reason we love this team. They do great work on and off the ice, putting on an annual Hockey Fights Cancer month. Part of ticket proceeds support the cause. Plus, there are usually post-game concerts (this year’s game is on Feb. 22 and features Mitchell Tenpenny).
7. Milwaukee Brewers
Sport: Men’s Major League Baseball (MLB)
Season: March 27 through Sept. 28
Tickets: Available here–Depends on venue (home vs away)
The Brew Crew has been exciting baseball fans all over Wisconsin for over five decades. You can see them in action at American Family Field, rain or shine, as it is only one of seven baseball stadiums in the US with a retractable roof. Every game also hosts a uniquely Wisconsin sausage race—yes, you read that right. For the past 30 years, six sausages (Bratwurst, Italian, Polish, Hot Dog, and Chorizo) have been speeding as fast as their tall costumes allow from 1st to 3rd base.
