Good morning, Wisconsin!

Ellie here. Among the many topics of conversation in our state, data centers rank near the top for many Wisconsinites.

According to datacentermap.com, our state has 53 data centers, 19 of which are in Milwaukee County alone.

A Marquette University Law School poll found that about 70% of registered voters believe the costs of the data centers outweigh the benefits.

Data centers have also become a large issue in Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race. Democratic candidate Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and Republican candidate US Rep. Tom Tiffany have both shared how they will approach the issue if elected.

And Wisconsinites across the state have continued to voice their opposition to proposed data centers in their communities. Like in Greenleaf, where an AI data center plan was scrapped after residents and officials made it clear they opposed it.

Among the many topics of conversation surrounding Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race is affordable housing.

Both Democrat David Crowley and Republican Tom Tiffany have plans to address the issue if elected governor. They do, however, differ on their approaches.
