Take a trip to Mexico with the Enchilada Dog: enchiladas and a hot dog all in one. (Milwaukee Brewers)
With new food vendors and fun menu items, AmFam Field is a hot spot for dining.
Apologies to these true concession classics, but move over hot dogs, popcorn, and, yes, even Cracker Jacks. AmFam Field, which is the home field for the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee’s Major League Baseball team, offers food with as much variety as a food hall.
Many new options arrived during the 2022 season, thanks to a new partnership with a local restaurant group, Black Shoe Hospitality. Still more debuted last year, within an annex of the 3rd St Market Hall, all locally based food purveyors. (The original is at The Avenue, in downtown Milwaukee, in what used to be Grand Avenue Mall.) The 2025 Brewers season also brought a fan-favorite addition: The Alley Food Truck Park, featuring local food-truck vendors Milwaukeeans already know and love.
From sushi to arepas, plus a full-on restaurant (J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard), here’s where to grab food between innings. Of course, there are also definite nods to Wisconsin food culture, such as brats and fried cheese curds, that should not be missed. Wash it all down with a pint from a new beer partnership between the Brewers’ left fielder, Christian Yelich, and J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard that launched in July: Yeli’s Gold Coast 22, best described as a tropical ale with pineapple and coconut flavors, for a refreshing take on ballpark beer.

1. Black Bean and Cheddar Arepas
Tucked into the 3rd St Market Hall Annex, Anytime Arepas serves various versions of the Venezuelan staple. In this case, it’s black beans and cheddar. Not sure what arepas are? They are constructed similarly to a pita, except they’re open on one end with a crusty outside and a soft, doughy inside.
2. Maxie’s Spicy Southern
Locals likely know Maxie’s, a Southern-inspired restaurant just north of AmFam Field that’s been open since 2007 in a former grocer and meat market. The ballpark houses a satellite location of the eatery. For this tasty sandwich, fried chicken breast is paired with a hot sauce, pickle slices, and Comeback sauce, all on a potato bun. Comeback sauce is a condiment rooted in the South that’s made out of mayonnaise and chili sauce or ketchup.
3. Bases Loaded Potato Dog
We may have just dissed hot dogs, but this one is completely different and more unique than your typical ballpark dog. Wisconsin’s favorite cheese (cheddar) is one of the toppings on this hot dog, along with bacon strips, sour cream, tater tots, and green onions. This hot dog with a name that’s in perfect pitch (see what we did there) is so hearty and filling that you may not need to order a second.
4. Smokin’ Gouda Burger
New for the 2025 season, this burger experience begins with twin burger patties between a potato bun before it’s topped with a fun departure from other cheese varieties (meet gouda, an ideal melting cheese!), plus beer butter onions and smokey chipotle. If you like fried foods and a little bit of kick, this burger is calling your name.

5. Enchilada Dog
Can’t decide between Mexican and American food? This Enchilada Dog makes the decision for you. What’s an Enchilada Dog, you ask? It’s a corn tortilla dipped in salsa roja (a tomato-based salsa common to many Mexican dishes and usually served with tortilla chips), and also featuring melted cheese, sour cream, onion, and cilantro.

6. Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya
Take a trip to Cajun country—specifically New Orleans, Louisiana—with this rice dish that’s anchored by blackened chicken and andouille sausage, along with rice, scallions, and the Creole sauce that makes this dish world-famous. The cultures that created this dish are an overlap of African, Spanish, and French. Creole Sauce is tomato sauce with a kick—it’s also the “secret” ingredient in jambalaya.
7. Gelato
On a hot day, there’s nothing better than scoring a scoop of gelato to cap off a great game at Baron’s Gelato, located at The Alley Food Truck Park. This Sheboygan-based gelato maker has been a huge hit in Sheboygan since their 2007 launch, and its arrival at AmFam Field finally brought the flavors to Milwaukee. Wisconsin Foodie’s Luke Zahm calls Baron’s “the most impressive gelato maker in the entire state.”
8. Churros
Available at Chuchos Red Tacos, which is parked at The Alley, these cinnamon-dusted hot pastry wands that are also deep-fried are a real treat. They’re great for sharing as you can tear off a piece. Think of it as a warm, decadent doughnut.

9. Parmesan Truffle Fries
Nadi Plates can also be found in The Alley Food Truck Park. It’s cuisine skews Italian, including these indulgent fries—tossed with truffle seasoning and Parmesan cheese—that would be a fantastic side order for any sandwich served in the park, including this vendor’s Italian beef sandwich, another nod to Italy.

10. Hanging Bacon
Instead of laying bacon strips flat on a plate, for this dish—served at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard—pieces of Nueske’s bacon, from this bacon maker rooted in Wisconsin since 1882, are hung upright. They’re also prepared in a bourbon-black pepper glaze.
11. Tacos
Tacos are all the rage this summer, and that includes at ballparks, and especially AmFam Field. At Kompali Tacos, in the 3rd St Market Hall Annex, which is where the concessions from local restaurants all are, tacos are served traditional Mexican style: in tortillas, filled with a variety of ingredients, such as beef brisket, pulled chicken marinated in Tinga sauce, and grilled tilapia (with pineapple salsa). These are great for sharing, which ties back into Kompali’s name: in Nahuatl, which is a language spoken in Mexico, it means compadres.
