The Brewers season is finally here, so it’s time to plan fun outings for before (or after) a game at American Family Field.
It’s the season to take yourself and your friends out to the ball game! Opening day for the Brewers at American Family Field is right around the corner—baseball fans of all kinds are ready to cheer on the Brew Crew. Aside from enjoying the game, there are many fun spots to hit before you head in.
Our list includes unique, sports-themed restaurants and bars, a few of which include shuttles to and from AmFam field for incredible convenience. Other experiences that made our list are enjoyable outings with rich Wisconsin histories. Whether it’s a bite to eat, unique Wisconsin experiences, or a few celebratory drinks after the game, check out 15 fun things nearby American Family Field for everyone to appreciate.
Food by American Family Field
Tailgating
A time-honored tradition at American Family Field is tailgating. You can tailgate in any of the parking lots at the field, starting three hours before the game (ending half an hour after the first pitch). Bring along brats, burgers, and plenty of beer to get your pre-game on without having to leave the stadium parking lot.
The 4th Base Restaurant – 5117 W National Avenue
The 4th Base Restaurant is one of the oldest sports bars in Milwaukee and is conveniently within walking distance from American Family Field. The restaurant in the sports bar features a seafood and steakhouse, and more.
Dugout 54 – 5328 W Bluemound Road
The Dugout 54 is open all week (opening early on game days)! The spot prides itself on serving a variety of craft beer offerings, even giving you the chance to create your own beer flight.
Swinging Door Exchange – 219 E Michigan Street
Swing on by the Swingin’ Door Exchange Saloon & Eatery for a Friday Fish Fry or something delicious off the daily menu. The Saturday brunch is especially delightful, and visitors say the service is great!
Magoo’s on the Mound – 5841 West Bluemound Road
If you’re looking for a place to get a bite to eat before or after the game, stop by Maggo’s on the Mound. It specializes in craft beer and tasty eats. There’s also a shuttle available to and from the game.
Bars by American Family Field
Whether before or after the game, be sure to drink Wisconsinably—meaning, don’t drink and drive. For your convenience, J& B’s Sports Bar & Blue Ribbon Taproom and McGinn’s Sports Bar offer shuttles to American Family Field.
Great Lakes Distillery – 616 W Virginia Street
Since 2004, Great Lakes Distillery & Tasting has offered tasting tours. Each tour lasts about an hour and includes a detailed discussion of their distilling process and samples of award-winning spirits.

J&B’s Sports Bar & Blue Ribbon Taproom – 5230 W Bluemound Road
J&B’s Sports Bar & Blue Ribbon Taproom is home to the best chicken strips in Milwaukee. It claims the title of the #1 pre and post-game destination for AmFam events!
McGinn’s Sports Bar – 5901 W Bluemound Road
It’s early in the year, but McGinn’s already earned the 2025 title of MKE Favorite Wings from Jammin’ 98.3! The shuttle that runs from this location to the field starts 90 minutes before the game and starts returning at the top of the seventh inning.
Big Head Brewing Co. – 6204 W State Street
Big Head Brewing Co. is a small, relaxed brewery with a beer for everyone. It has video games, pinball, and more, along with a trivia night. If you enjoy your time there and plan to be a repeat visitor, consider joining the 2025 Mug Club with tons of great benefits.
Museums & other activities by American Family Field
The Selig Experience – American Family Field’s Loge Level
Hours: When the gates open for home games.
Since 2015, The Selig Experience has been available at American Family Field to honor former Brewers owner Allan H. “Bud” Selig. The 1,400-square-foot exhibit honors the legend, containing a multimedia presentation and mementos from Selig’s time as the Brewers owner. It’s an incredible, world-class experience for baseball lovers.
Potawatomi Hotel & Casino – 1721 W Canal Street
Hours: Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
If you’re looking for a little something to do before the game or want to carry the Brewer’s winning luck with you, stop by Potawatomi Casino for a few drinks, snacks, and plenty of games. Here, you can find More than 3,100 slot and video machines, 100 table games, and a poker room.
Pabst Mansion – 2000 W Wisconsin Avenue
Hours: Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission: $12 to $19 (kids five and younger free)
You can’t visit the Milwaukee Area without stopping by the Pabst Mansion for a tour. They offer classic and self-guided tours, in addition to special-themed tours (like a mimosa tour and blue ribbon happy hour tours) of the mansion that’s been standing since 1892. The tours last 60 minutes and cover the mansion, the Pabst family, and architecture.

Miller Brewery Tour – 4251 W State Street
Hours: Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission: $20 to $60
Enjoy Miller time before or after the Brewers take the field! Choose from three different brewery tour options, including a classic Miller Brewery Tour, the Miller Brewing Company Historical Tour, or the Miller Brewery Archives Experience. Learn about Miller’s rich 170-year-old brewing history and enjoy a few samples during your visit. Fun fact: Did you know from 2001 to 2020, American Family Field was known as Miller Park?
Harley-Davidson Museum – 400 W Canal Street
Hours: Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Seven days a week in March)
Admission: $11 to $25 (kids under five are free)
Get ready to start your engines when you stop by the Harley-Davidson Museum before or after the big game. The two-story museum features limited edition exhibits as well as seven permanent exhibits. You’ll also be able to stop by the MOTOR Bar and Restaurant for an enjoyable drink and delicious bite to eat.

Milwaukee Public Museum – 800 W Wells Street
Hours: Wednesday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission: $19 to $25
Although the Milwaukee Public Museum will be getting a new home in 2027, for now, it’s an interesting place to visit while you’re on your way to catch the Brew Crew. The museum has three floors, including an indoor butterfly garden. During your visit, you can also check out the planetarium and dome theater.
