Dozens of individual nuggets of information about coronavirus
As the coronavirus pandemic has swept across the world, the United States, and Wisconsin, all of us have many questions about the virus that has disrupted people’s lives in more ways than we can count.
Thankfully for us, we live in a world where information is as close as the click of a mouse, as long as available Wifi makes doing so possible.
No longer must we visit a library and find information related to COVID-19 in a book, or rely on relatives and friends to learn the latest about the especially contagious virus. Instead, up-to-date figures, statistics, perspectives and more related to the illness are accessible at our fingertips.
Among the most reliable sources of coronavirus-related information is the Centers for Disease Control. The national health organization’s website contains no shortage of information about COVID-19.
The CDC has posted 71 separate videos to its website that provide answers to all things COVID-19. They cover a wide range of topics, from basic information about the virus, to different types of coronavirus, to practices people should take to effectively halt the spread of the illness.
Many video posts are self explanatory, with such titles as “COVID-19: Stay Home When You Are Sick,” and “How Do You Catch COVID-19?”
Others offer answers to frequently asked questions about the virus, provide details on social distancing, and offer tips for managing anxiety and stress while we’re stuck at home obeying stay-at-home rules.
“You may feel anxious, anger, sadness,” the latter video’s narrator explains, expressing thoughts many people have had since the pandemic began impacting our lives.
The narrator goes on to urge us to be on the lookout for signs of stress in our lives and in those around us. He tells us to take periodic breaks from the seemingly overwhelming flood of COVID-19-related news, and to “take time to unwind.”
He then offers a message we all need to hear, one intended to help keep us going amid this challenging time: Let’s take care of ourselves, our family and our community.”
