As Thanksgiving approaches, food pantries across Wisconsin still face an increase in demand. The government shutdown and the lack of SNAP funding caused a surge in need among Wisconsin residents, impacting food pantries across the state.
Restaurants and organizations across Wisconsin are working to ensure no one goes hungry this Thanksgiving Day.

Here’s where residents can find a free Thanksgiving meal across Wisconsin this year.
- Iron River: All are invited to a free Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 27 at the Iron River Community Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., made possible by donations.
- Eagle River: Last Cast Bar & Grill will offer its third annual free community Thanksgiving buffet from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 27, where they will feature Thanksgiving culinary classics.
- Fitchburg: Delta Beer Lab will host its seventh annual free community Thanksgiving meal in the tap room on Nov. 27. Food will be served from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Superior: A free meal will be provided to veterans at the By Richard I Bong Veterans Historical Center on Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dine-in, curbside, and delivery options are available.
- Superior: Also in Superior, Who’s Bar will host its annual free Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 27 at 11 a.m.
- Beaver Dam: Cantafio’s Buckhorn Steakhouse will offer a free Thanksgiving buffet in honor of veterans, and the owners’ son, Ryan, who served. Food will be served on Nov. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Minocqua: Sheri’s Pub N’ Grub will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Milton: Mary’s Cafe and TRC Roofing have come together to thank those who have supported small businesses this year by offering a free Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 26 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Baraboo: Faithworks Ministries will have its seventh annual free community Thanksgiving meal, based out of Las Milpas Restaurant & Store on Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This meal is carry-out only.
- Centerville: GETogether will offer a free Thanksgiving meal at the Centerville Curling Club on Nov. 27. Food will be available starting at 11 a.m. until it’s gone.
- Burlington: Buck Trail Archers will offer a free Soup Kitchen on Nov. 27. The event is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Wausau: First Presbyterian Church will host its annual free Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 27. Community members have the option of a home delivery or dine-in meal.
- Eau Claire: Saving Grace Lutheran Church will host a free Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take-out and dine-in options will be available.
