Marking the second anniversary of the repeal of Roe v. Wade, Sen. Elizabeth Warren visited Madison to campaign for President Joe Biden and to advocate for the restoration of women’s right to seek reproductive health care, including abortion, free from government interference.
The Massachusetts Democrat said to believe former President Donald Trump when he brags about nominating the three US Supreme Court justices who helped repeal Roe. She emphasized Biden’s commitment to safeguard access to abortion, contraception, and in vitro fertilization.
“Fighting for access to abortion means fighting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. It means fighting for Sen. Tammy Baldwin. It means fighting for Democrats up and down the ballot,” said Warren, whose Wisconsin tour also includes Tuesday stops in Eau Claire and Hudson before heading to Minnesota.
While on the road, she spoke with Pat Kreitlow for an interview that will air Wednesday morning at 7:10 on UpNorthNews Radio. Topics include women’s healthcare rights, proposed cuts to family nutrition programs, and what a second Biden term would mean for family issues like paid leave and childcare assistance.
