DID YOU KNOW? Wisconsin ranks 13th among states that produce the most pumpkins. Our neighbors in Illinois grow the most–responsible for nearly 40% of America’s supply.

Whether they’re grown here or there, a plentiful supply of local pumpkins means plenty of slices of fresh-made pie. There’s something comforting about the taste and smell of a cinnamon-flecked, smooth, but not-too-sweet pumpkin pie this time of year.

Wisconsin is home to some of America’s best pie shops, and many specialize in pumpkin. Here are 10 of the best:

Batch Bakehouse
Madison

If there’s an award for the prettiest pie, Batch would win. Its pumpkin is topped with leafs, made of pie crust.

Blue Willow Cafe
Wausau

This diner is known for home-cooked comfort food, but make sure to save room for its rich and decadent pie–and ask for fresh whipped cream!

Crystal Cafe
Iola

A small shop in a small town, this bakery is the epitome of a “hidden gem” with an inspiring, movie-worthy backstory.

Door County Bakery
Sister Bay

Door County may be the land of cherry pie, but these bakers know how to make a stellar pumpkin, too.

Elsie Mae’s Canning and Pies
Milwaukee

This shop serves a winning combination of grandma’s tried and true recipes made with locally-sourced ingredients.

Linda’s Bakery
West Salem

A local favorite for more than 40 years, place your order a day in advance to make sure bakers don’t run out!

Manderfield’s Home Bakery
Appleton and Menasha

Flavorful and fluffy are the most common words in Yelp reviews for this family-run bakery’s pumpkin pie.

Norske Nook
Multiple locations including Osseo, Rice Lake, Hayward, and Deforest

This Western Wisconsin staple has won so many awards, it has an entire page devoted to them on its website.

Not By Bread Alone
Green Bay

If you have high standards for pie crust, this is your place. Tip: While you’re there, order the stuffed sausage bread.

Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe
Multiple locations including Suamico, Green Bay, and De Pere

A great stop on your way to or from a Packers game, it’s impossible to walk out of Uncle Mike’s without a pie and North America’s best kringle.
