Question of the Week: How does Election Night end?

Will Democrats win a trifecta or will the election end with split control of state government? It’s our newsletter question for October 29.

It’s all come down to this: an election cycle in Wisconsin that might see the end of 16 years of Republican dominance of the Legislature, a close race for governor, a shake-up in Congress, and America sending a message to a lame duck president

The word of the year for Wisconsin Democrats has been “trifecta,” a political holy grail of controlling the governor’s office, the Assembly, and the Senate for the first time since 2010. Even with maps that are no longer obscenely gerrymandered, we’re likely to be up late Tuesday night to see how a closely-divided electorate decides control of the legislative branch.

For simplicity’s sake (acknowledging a gloomy forecast for Republicans), we don’t include a GOP trifecta among the choices, but you’re welcome to choose “other” as an option.

Click your choice in the box above and feel free to say more in the comment box—and leave your first name and hometown so we can share your answer in our next newsletter.
