We asked our readers what Green Bay Packers games they’re most looking forward to in 2024. Here’s what they said.
We’re just weeks away from the start of the NFL regular season, and Green Bay Packers fans are excited to see if quarterback Jordan Love can build on last year’s impressive performance to return the Packers to the top of the NFC North. As part of our Green Bay Guide, our readers told us the Packers games they’re most looking forward to.
Now, we’re breaking down their answers by home and away games. If you can, catch the home games at Lambeau Field, and watch the away games from the best sports bar in town, Simonet’s Bar.
Home Games
Sunday, September 15: Indianapolis Colts
Kickoff time: 12:00 PM
Vegas favorite to win: Packers by 4 points
Broadcaster: Fox
The Colts spent last year’s first-round draft pick on Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. He dazzled with his athleticism early in the season before being shut down with multiple injuries. With backup QB Gardner Minshew under center, the Colts still managed to finish the season with a win-loss record of 9-8. With Richardson back, this should be a good test for the Green Bay defense.
The real reason to be excited about this game? It’s the home opener! Catch a game at Lambeau in September if you’re not up for enduring the elements when it inevitably becomes the Frozen Tundra.
Sunday, November 3: Detroit Lions
Kickoff time: 3:25 PM
Vegas favorite to win: Not announced yet, but will likely be the Lions
Broadcaster: Fox
The Lions have emerged as Green Bay’s biggest competition in the NFC North. They drowned the Packers’ playoff hopes in a Week 18 game in 2022, and made a deep playoff run last year.
They’re an undeniably impressive team, with top-tier talents like wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, right tackle Penei Sewell, and edge defender Aidan Hutchinson. But the Packers got the best of the Lions in their last matchup, and Jordan Love has only gotten better since then. This will probably be a game with major playoff implications.
Sunday, November 24: San Francisco 49ers
Kickoff time: 3:25 PM
Vegas favorite to win: Not announced yet, but will likely be the 49ers
Broadcaster: Fox
In last season’s playoffs, the Packers lost a 24-21 nail-biter to the 49ers, who went on to play in the Super Bowl. San Francisco still looks like a juggernaut from top to bottom, and to be the best, the Packers will have to beat the best.
This game was our readers’ top pick, so come to Lambeau and get loud!
Away Games
Friday, September 6: Philadelphia Eagles
Kickoff time: 7:15 PM
Vegas favorite to win: Eagles by 2 points
Broadcaster: Peacock
There are several big reasons to be excited about this matchup:
- It’s the first game of the season! Football is officially back.
- The Eagles were NFC champions just two seasons ago. Last year was a down year for the team, and they still notched 11 wins. This should be a good test for the Pack.
- The game will be played in Brazil, marking the first time the NFL has come to South America.
Sunday, November 17: Chicago Bears
Kickoff time: 12:00 PM
Vegas favorite to win: Not announced yet, but will likely be the Packers
Broadcaster: Fox
This will be Green Bay’s first time facing the rival Bears since they spent this years first overall draft pick on quarterback Caleb Williams of USC. He was an impressive playmaker in college, and Chicago has set him up for success with an array of weapons: D.J Moore, Keenan Allen, and rookie Rome Odunze of Washington at wide receiver; Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett at tight end; and D’Andre Swift at running back. Watch this game in the hopes of Green Bay giving Williams a big “Welcome to the NFL” moment.
