If you’re as dog-obsessed as we are, you know how nice to is to be able to bring your dog along with you on your daily adventures. There are a handful of Wisconsin breweries and beer gardens that allow our four-legged friends to tag along, but sometimes, pet owners are looking for safe, well-maintained dog parks for their furbabies to run free in. If you’re looking for these dedicated spaces in Milwaukee County, look no further than this list of leash-free dog parks around town.

Currie Dog Park

Where it is: 3535 North Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa

Why it’s the best: No matter how big or small your furry friend is, there’s a spot for them at Currie Dog Park. There are two spaces—a 10-acre fenced-in space for larger dogs and a 1.5-acre space for smaller ones.

Bay View Dog Park

Where it is: East Lincoln Avenue & South Bay Street, Bay View

Why it’s the best: Described on the Milwaukee County Park website as a “pocket” dog park, the Bay View Dog Park is on the smaller side.

What pup parents have to say: Visitors appreciate this park for its simplicity, noting that it’s typically a pretty pack house with lots of opportunity for dogs and their owners alike to get to know their fellow dog park enthusiasts. It’s also worth noting, in the most Wisconsin fashion, that there is a bar across the street that allows furry friends!

Granville Dog Park

Where it is: 11718 West Good Hope Place, Milwaukee

Why it’s the best: If you’re looking for a place to take your furry friend without a fence, this dog park in Milwaukee is for you. With 10 acres to explore and a nearby river, it’s a unique park on this list for pups and pup parents who love the great outdoors.

What pup parents have to say: This dog park in Milwaukee is popular for many features, including the trails and creek access. Owners consistently say their pups are constantly sniffing and exploring, but they tend to get pretty muddy—so make sure to build in a bath time after your visit.

Estabrook Dog Park

Where it is: 4400 North Estabrook Drive, Milwaukee

Why it’s the best: Estabrook Dog Park is three acres of fenced-in fun for your dog. Within that space, there’s a section for bigger dogs and smaller dogs.

Roverwest Dog Park

Where it is: 3243 North Weil Street, Milwaukee

Why it’s the best: This fenced-in space is great for dogs who want to roam free (off leash) and play. Being in the Riverwest neighborhood, the setting is relaxing, and access to the park and parking are both super easy.

Why it’s the best: Among the mid to larger-size dog parks in Milwaukee on this list is Warnimont Dog Park. Within the 5-acre space, you will find a fully fenced-in area where pups of all sizes can frolic and play. There is a separate small dog area if your furry friends feel more comfortable there.

Where it is: 103 West Clybourn Avenue

Why it’s the best: The Downtown Milwaukee area is truly unique and one of a kind, spanning 23,000 square feet of pet-friendly turf and water stations. It’s the perfect place to finish a walk (near a river walk) and let your dogs play to their hearts’ content.
