A Better Wisconsin Together calls for candidate Ryan Huebsch to be held accountable for racially insensitive social media history.
Across zip codes and party lines, most of us in Wisconsin can agree that those we elect to represent us in office should stand for unity and respect—not division and hate.
Yet, recent reporting has uncovered that Republican state legislative candidate Ryan Huebsch, seeking to represent Wisconsinites near the greater La Crosse area in Assembly District 94, has a history of using racial slurs on his public social media accounts.
The posts, which were deleted by Huebsch after being brought to light in the news, show Huebsch using a racial slur while making a threat of violence against the Muslim community on Facebook, as well as an interaction with a post on X (formerly Twitter) that uses a racial slur against the Black community.
Voters deserve to know the true character of those who want to represent them and these posts made on Huebsch’s personal social media accounts are a deeply troubling reflection of values that have no place in public office.
Elected officials must be held to the highest of standards, whether they’ve taken the oath of office or are still on the campaign trail. Huebsch has failed that standard, and shouldn’t be sent to Madison.
