Our Wisconsin conspiracy theorist is at it again! Sen. Ron Johnson (R) has always been a lot of talk, little action — but he appears to be serious about this one, and it’s alarming…
For years now, Johnson has been questioning the legitimacy of the September 11 terrorist attack that killed 2,996 Americans in and around the World Trade Center — not to mention thousands more from debris-related cancers and the resulting wars.
But — never one to let facts in the way — this week, Johnson pushed for congressional hearings on a debunked conspiracy theory about the Sept. 11 attacks, saying that there are “an awful lot of questions” about the deadliest terrorist attack in U.S. history.
“What actually happened on 9/11? What do we know? What is being covered up?” Johnson said of the 2001 attacks. “My guess is there’s an awful lot being covered up in terms of what the American government knows about 9/11.”
Asked if he planned on holding hearings, Johnson said, “I think so. There are a host of questions I will be asking.”
We, naturally, have a few thoughts…
1. What a slap in the face to families who lost someone in those attacks and — after 24 long years — have finally reached the “acceptance” part of their grieving process.
2. Where’s DOGE? Investigations aren’t cheap, not to mention time consuming.
3. He doesn’t have anything better to do? Last we checked, Wisconsin farmers were still reeling from Trump’s tariffs, Wisconsin food pantries were still struggling after Trump’s $1 billion cut to their budgets, and we still have a president in office who’s routinely circumventing the law.
