Cheeseheads are the most diehard fans in pro football. And we have the research to back that up.
A team of Samford University researchers scored all 32 NFL teams on three key factors: total number of fans, attendance, and merchandise purchased. The consensus? The Green Bay Packers have the strongest fanbase in the NFL.
Here’s how things broke down by category:
💚 Total Number of Fans – 3rd
The Dallas Cowboys have the biggest fanbase, and the Jacksonville Jaguars have the smallest.
💛 Attendance – 1st
The Packers had almost 10 million fans at games across the four years studied, while the Jacksonville Jaguars (who, again, came in last) didn’t eclipse one million.
💚 Merchandise Purchased – 3rd
Once again, the Packers fell short of the Cowboys in terms of merch purchases, but this time, the Indianapolis Colts–not the Jaguars–came in last.
🏈 DID YOU KNOW? Every Packers home game generates roughly $15 million in revenue for Brown County and the city of Green Bay.
An estimated 80% of fans travel 50+ miles to Lambeau, which means many spend money not only on tickets, but restaurants, bars, hotels, and more. But they also shell out cash inside the stadium. USBettingReport.com created the NFL Concession Index to compare inter-league prices.
Lambeau came in 8th, meaning Packers fans pay the 8th-lowest prices for concessions in the NFL.
🌭 Average Price of a Hot Dog: $6.25
🍺 Average Price of a Small Beer: $9.50

But factor in ticket prices, and that’s a different story.
Sidelines, a sports betting company, analyzed average ticket prices for every NFL team. The most expensive? Dallas Cowboys’ home games, which cost fans $245 on average.
🧀 When you factor in income, the Packers have the NFL’s priciest tickets at $204.11, or roughly 18% of Wisconsin’s average weekly wage.
🤠 The cheapest home game tickets belong to the Houston Texans, with an average price of $64.13, which is just 4.5% of Texan’s weekly wage.
Up Next? The 2025 NFL Draft! Next April, Wisconsin will host the event for the first time in 85 years.
