Rep. Joe Neguse pressed House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil over what he called major loopholes in Republicans’ congressional stock trading bill, noting lawmakers could still buy crypto, private-placement stocks, industry-specific mutual funds and bonds. Neguse also questioned why House Republicans won’t adopt the same bipartisan ban on congressional prediction market betting that the Senate passed by voice vote, asking: “If the Senate did it in a day, why can’t we?”
