Sara Rodriguez says the GOP is spending big to influence Democratic primary

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez is accusing national Republicans of trying to shape the race for her party’s nominee for governor. Rodriguez says the Republican Governors Association has poured $2.2 million into Wisconsin’s Democratic primary, arguing the group’s donors are attempting to choose the opponent they would rather face in November. Wisconsin Democrats will choose their nominee in the Aug. 11 primary, with early voting beginning July 28.
