Derrick Van Orden consistently takes credit for a $50 billion “rural healthcare infrastructure fund” that was in last year’s Republican megabill — but when you really look into the numbers, it isn’t new investment for rural healthcare. It’s putting back a tiny fraction of what rural healthcare is losing with all the cuts contained in that so-called big, beautiful bill.
