Democratic nominee for governor David Crowley released his AI safety plan on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he appeared at UpNorthNews’ live On the Ballot event and explained why putting safeguards and regulations in place is important to him. Crowley has said he wants to restrict access to chatbots for Wisconsinites under the age of 13, ban addictive features like infinite scroll and autoplay on minors’ social media accounts, hold platforms accountable for scam ads, and allow families to sue platforms if their content harms children, such as by promoting drug sales or eating disorders.
