🤔 Have you heard this phrase before? “The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.” In the case of US Representative and Republican candidate for governor Tom Tiffany, some groups say his record of election denialism could pose some risks to the 2028 presidential election in Wisconsin, if Tiffany is governor. Tiffany has a well-documented history of rejecting the 2020 election. As governor, he would oversee pivotal Wisconsin elections and could attempt to delay, block, or contest the certification of 2028 electoral votes if he disputes the outcome. Tiffany has opposed the use of mail-in voting. A governorship would grant him veto power to block legislative efforts to expand ballot access, while enabling him to pass measures that implement stricter voting restrictions. Governors also significantly shape state voting procedures by appointing members to key election boards and commissions. Tiffany could use this authority to install loyalists to oversee Wisconsin’s voting infrastructure ahead of the 2028 count. ✏️: Salina Heller
