Besides the race for governor, there are many other key primary elections being held around Wisconsin next week to determine which candidates advance to the November general election — and that includes State Treasurer, where two Democrats are competing to see who will challenge Republican incumbent John Leiber. Yee Leng Xiong, whose parents were among the first Hmong refugees to settle in Marathon County, is a member of his school, village, and county boards. Dylan Helmenstine is on the Black Earth village board and has worked as a financial analyst for Wisconsin’s Medicaid program.
