It was the tightest assembly race in the state of Wisconsin in 2024. 🗳️ First-time candidates Republican Ben Franklin and Democrat Christy Welch, both of De Pere, faced off in the 88th Assembly District. Franklin won the seat by a razor-thin margin—50.3% to 49.7%. This November, the district is considered a critical “must-win” battlefield for both parties.Democratic candidate and working mom Brandy Tollefson is trying to shift the majority in the chamber.
