When Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth arrived in Eau Claire today, a group of protesters made sure he knew they weren’t happy with how he’s handling the job. “The things we’re doing now under this administration are horrifying—we’ve got the illegal war in Iran, we have our service people who are being treated like they’re in video games, being held out on deployment so long, and we’re losing our supply of weaponry,” said Cyndi Greening of Chippewa Valley Indivisible. “We are so much more at risk because of Pete Hegseth’s leadership—if you can call it that. We all felt like we needed to be here and call it out.” Protesters lined up across from Riverside Machine & Engineering.
