Rep. Angela Stroud says protecting women does not start with sports bans


Wisconsin Rep. Angela Stroud pushed back against legislation focused on transgender athletes, arguing lawmakers should not define support for women through restrictions on sports, locker rooms or the legal definition of sex. Speaking on the Assembly floor, Stroud said Wisconsin could better support women by equally funding women’s athletic programs, expanding resources for domestic violence and mental health services, raising the minimum wage and improving access to paid maternity leave and child care
