“He was extremely kind, caring, and knowledgeable about medical care.”
That’s how Mac Randolph began to describe 37-year-old Alex Pretti. Alex, who grew up in Green Bay and who was shot and killed by a federal agent in Minneapolis, was the ICU nurse who had cared for his 77-year-old father, Terrance Lee Randolph, during his final days at the Minneapolis Veterans Medical Center.”
He knew how to answer hard questions calmly and guide us through a very dark and scary time,” Mac told UpNorthNews. “He will be remembered by my family as courageous and selfless man who helped bring my father through his final days painlessly as possible. He is a what we should all aspire to be.”
Alex read the veteran’s final salute at the health center. Mac shared the video with UpNorthNews. Alex said, “Today we remember that freedom is not free. We have to work at it, nurture it, protect it, and even sacrifice for it. May we never forget and always remember our brothers and sisters who have served, so that we may enjoy the gift of freedom.
In this moment, we remember and give thanks for their dedication and selfless service to our nation in the cause of our freedom.
Mac says his father’s final words to him were to “continue to fight the good fight.”
“He would be honored in Alex’ sacrifice, and ashamed of this current administration. In my dad’s words I encourage you all to continue to ‘fight the good fight.'”
