Cops, Cards, and Kids: Wisconsin police departments bring back beloved ‘80s tradition

Remember when Wisconsin Police used to carry around Brewers’ trading cards in the ‘80s?! They’re back!

The concept is designed — both then & now — to connect officers with kids.

It first launched during Milwaukee’s World Series run in 1982 — with 30 different cards in community circulation. Each week, officers would get two new player cards, until they circulated through all 30.

The program was *initially* only supposed to last 15 weeks… but became SO popular, it carried on through most of the ‘90s!

This summer, kids are once again able to find the comic book character-themed designs below at departments state-wide.
