Earlier this year, we headed to Green Bay to try the fish fry many call “the best in the state.”

But ever since we published that review, the emails have kept coming in from readers who were concerned we were missing out on other hidden gems.

These are our two most popular reader recommendations:

Scenic Bar
Sheboygan

“We’ve been going to Scenic Bar for 36 years. The fish is lightly breaded, they serve the best coleslaw with a vinegar dressing (no mayo), and the roasted potatoes are seasoned to perfection and doused with butter.” -Karen R.

“From the outside, it looks small, but there’s plenty of seating. You can tell it’s a local hot spot. The homemade chips were delicious.” -Becky J.

“The moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed by all! Good selection of beers, and the fish fry is great. The beer-battered cod was cooked perfectly and the German potato salad was SO good.” -Cindy R.

Norm’s Hollow
Deerbrook

“The portions are huge! I had their special, which was wild rice cod or haddock with beer cheese on top. But everything was amazing!” -Shawn P.

“Had a fantastic filet here, along with an amazing French onion soup. The locals are over-the-top friendly, and I’m pleased to have found it.” -Alex S.

“A++++++! This place is great. Doesn’t get better than this in the Northwoods!” -Bruce M.
